TED is a small nonprofit devoted to "Ideas worth Spreading".   TED started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Since then, its scope has become ever broader. As of July 2011, over 900 talks are available free online, and the viewing figure stands at more than 290 million!     Go to the TED website...     Go to the TEDx1000Lakes website... What is TEDx1000Lakes?   TEDx1000Lakes brings the spirit of TED's "Ideas worth Spreading" mission to Northern Minnesota.   TEDx1000Lakes will combine live presentations with selected TEDTalk videos for a day that sparks deep conversation and connections!    There is no charge to attend TEDx1000Lakes, but TED limits attendance 100 people so this is a first-come first-served event. Please complete this short application form if you would like to be considered as an attendee for the TEDx1000Lakes 2011 event.       TEDx is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.   TEDx events are fully planned and coordinated independently, on a community-by-community basis.
